The car was shown at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. Third generation has become a truly "global" model - it is the same in all markets. The car used a modified platform of the second generation with advanced multi-link rear suspension elements called «Control Blade». This platform has replaced three different platforms, carried out in different regions. The family of engines: EcoBoost SCTi (Sequential Charge Turbo injection) and a six-speed PowerShift transmission.
