Mazda CX-7 is built on a new platform, but almost all components were borrowed from other models. Front suspension - from minivan Mazda MPV, the rear suspension - slightly modified suspension from Mazda 3, one of the engines - from Mazda 6 MPS, but derated to 238 hp and all-wheel drive transmission with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch to drive the rear wheels. The car comes with 6-speed automatic transmission with Active manual shift mode.
