1969 Ford Mustang underwent re-modernization, more away from the original concept. Ford Mustang in 1969 was the first model using four scheme head lights, placed inside and outside the grille. The 429th version with V8 engine (375 hp) was intended for NASCAR and was completed with Ram Air-induction and special exhaust manifolds. 1970 model was left virtually untouched, changing only the front and making a few minor updates.
