First generation Nissan Almera descended from the conveyor at the end of 1995, as a replacement for the Nissan Sunny, whose brand has been used for almost 30 years. Japanese domestic market model was produced under the name Bluebird-Sylphy, for Singapore - under the name Nissan Sunny and were equipped with automatic transmission and 1.6 engine.
