The C6 Corvette retained front engine and rear transmission design of C5, but was otherwise all-new, including new bodywork with exposed headlamps (for the first time since 1962), new 6.0l LS2 V8 engine (400 hp and 540 Nm) and reworked suspension geometry. It had longer wheelbase than C5, but its overall vehicle length and width were less than C5. 0-100 km/h takes 4.2 seconds and top speed is at 310 km/h.
