In 2008, BMW AG released the 5th generation BMW 7 Series BMW F01/F02. The main competitors are Mercedes-Benz S- Class , Audi A8, Lexus LS and Jaguar XJ. BMW F01/02 is available in rear-wheel drive versions and xDrive (AWD). 6 or 8-speed automatic gearboxes were introduced. And last versions, which were introduced, are 760Li and ActiveHybrid 7. BMW also produced a small amount of High Security version 7 series, equipped with armored body panels and bulletproof glass .
