Original RX-7 (known in Japan under the name Savanna) was equipped with a two-piece rotary-piston engine and front mid-engine and rear-drive layout. There are four generations of Mazda RX-7. First generation from 1978 to 1985, second from 1985 to 1991, third from 1992 to 1999 and last generation from 1999 to 2002. The third generation RX-7 engine, thanks to two turbochargers, develops 255 hp.
