A characteristic detail of 1963 Impala was rear body panel with solid aluminum trim. 1963 model looks a little different from the previous one, the main differences are more simple pattern of lines and almost sidewall flat windshield instead of glassed roof. From the standpoint of design 1963 model is often considered the most attractive of all the early Impala cars. 1964 model was a stylistic continuation of the successful model of 1963 and therefore was only slightly modified, main difference being the grille rounded shapes with a larger checkered pattern.
