Opel Antara - crossover, launched in 2007, took an empty niche in Opel's model lineup. The car is built on the same platform with Chevrolet Captiva, differing from it with shorter rear overhang, strictly 5-seater lounge (at Chevrolet 7-seater version is also available), exterior, interior and improved sound isolation. The engine range consists of a gasoline four-cylinder 2.4-liter170 hp engine, 3.0-liter V6 249 hp engine and diesel engine, producing 163 hp with manual and 184 hp with automatic transmission.
