Gumpert Apollo is a supercar made by Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH, located in Altenburg, Germany. In 2000 Roland Gumpert planned to develop a new generation of supercars. One of the main difficulties was that the machine is ready for racetracks and needed to receive a permission to drive on public roads. Production began in 2005. In 2008 Apollo took part in the TV show «Top Gear», where it took first place overtaking the Bugatti Veyron, Koenigsegg CCX and Ascari A10.
