Mercedes-Benz W108 and W109 luxury cars, line is an updated version predecessors W111 and W112 fintail sedans. Lineup opened W108 250S, 250SE and 300SE. In 1968 they were replaced by more powerful 280S, 280SE and 280SEL and in 1971 replaced the latest model 280SE 3.5 W109-th row is initially limited model 300SEL, but in 1967, Mercedes decides to equip the S-Class engines V8. So there are models 300SEL 3.5 (c 1969) and 300SEL 4.5 (c 1971). But the most powerful model becomes 300SEL 6.3 (c 1968) equipped with an engine from the W100 600 limousine.
